Hello my lovelies, I’m so excited! I’m Owumi and this is my first post here at Sacred and hopefully every week I’ll bring you a new trend I come across in my adventures on the worldwide web (big smile). So to start with i’m serving up a trend that seems to be getting more and more popular among women, not only in Nigeria but all around the beauty world. It’s on runways, red carpets, magazine covers and yes, even on the busy streets of Lagos. I’m talking about the sharp..defined, full brows (aka the Naija Brow). The first time I noticed this major trend was on the beautiful actress Lily Collins. I fell in love instantly, and being the eager bunny that I am, I went around looking for videos to learn how to get the look. Alot of people have been inspired to re-create these brows as all the big celebrities seem to be embracing them along with the extreme Highlight and Contour look as seen on Kim K, Beyonce, Rhianna, Miley Cyrus …
Hey everyone, Sure you had a fantastic weekend……:) I am very excited because, it’s a new week. I love it when a new week starts makes me feel good especially since my birthday is approaching *grin* So today’s tutorial is “how to: crystal eyeliner” by PIXIWOO. I love bold liners so much, I can go without an eyeshadow (which I consider stress especially when I am not in the mood for makeup, I just don’t have the patience for the whole application and blending process *phew*). So my liquid liner is a sure way for me to go looooool. Today’s eyeliner tutorial involves the use of glitters….. Well I won’t say it’s an everyday look, as it requires more time to do. It is actually wearable for me, maybe not on a daily basis. For parties maybe, or events, weddings, I can rock this to most occasions. But I would like you to watch the video and let me know what “YOU” think.
Hey guys, Have you ever wondered how hollywood celebrities always seem to have flawless skin when they’re in front of the cameras and on the red carpet? What gives them that glow and radiating beauty? Trust me, you don’t want to see them without their makeup on lol.
In my own opinion, beauty is a reflection of your inner self. However, being beautiful on the inside and neglecting your exterior is not a total definition of the word beauty. Just as you groom and value the inside, the exterior needs to be taken care of as well. According to Nancy Etcoff “Beauty draws us in. We can’t stop looking or listening or touching. It takes us outside ourselves and it motivates us. It’s essential to life and to happiness.”
Nicki Minaj and Rihanna are two ladies I love when it comes to colourful bold eyeshadows. I love bold eyeshadows….when done properly it adds life and interest to a simple makeup look and speaks volumes without you actually speaking. But then someone who refuses to be caught with vibrant shadow but still wants that colour and vibrancy will ask….“how do I take part in the fun without going all the way? “ The answer is simple; Colour eyeliners. A colourful eyeliner ranging from blue to violet can give a very neutral look an edge without committing to a full eyelid of colour. Everyone from Kelly Rowland to Leona Lewis have been rocking this trend and you too can be a part of it. Achieving this look is very easy, using any coloured eyeliner pencil, apply to the upper and lower lash line or waterline and smudge slightly with a smudge brush for more drama.
So winter is upon us, well harmattan in Nigeria but its all winter as we have shorter days and longer nights. Speaking of Nights I have always wanted to try one of those black vampire type smokey eyes. I am not afraid of crazy colours but that is theone look that scares me. I recently worked on a client who wanted the look and I remembered also working on a model for a shoot that required the same look (picture below) and it inspired me to try it on myself. Hey, if she clould pull it off so well so can I. (its only make up right?)
by Juliette Okoli The rain had just stopped and I was getting ready to go catch up with an old friend when I found a picture of kim kardashian ( yes I’m obseesed with her) with the most amazing bronze smokey eyes. Now as much as I love playing with colour (being a makeup artist) I’m not exactly bold with colours on my own face, I know, I know, but hey I am a sucker for bold lips, I wear them all day everyday. (Amen for bold lips) Seeing her picture got me thinking, I’ll wear a subtle bronze smokey eyes today and just cause I love you all.. I’ll show you step by step in pictures how I achieved this look.
