Hey everyone, A continuation on our skin care series: We discussed oily, dry and combination skin already. Today, we’ll be talking about “sensitive skin.” Sensitive skin is quite a common skin type, as it’s also known as a problematic skin. Sensitive skin is typically a thin or a fine-textured skin. It usually reacts quickly to temperature changes from heat, cold or wind, the sun or pollution. Sometimes aging increases the skins sensitivity. However, most people who think hey have sensitive skin are probably allergic to the ingredients in their skin care products. Only a dermatologist or a qualified therapist can determine if you have a sensitive skin. Sensitive skin usually gets easily irritated, red, rashy, blotchy or prone to allergic reactions. It requires extra gentle care. It’s important to use mild products formulated to help calm and soothe the skin.

Hey everyone, So obviously, the famous youtube “queen of blending” is the face of this product (chei she have hammer looool (translation.. she’s hit it big time!!) lool) anyway, so she is the the face of the product, and I would later find out about their “lip tars”. She did a couple of demos on the product and from the video, it does look really good, I’m interested in buying them already lol! See for yourselves….:) OCC Lip Tar Demos!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone, If there’s anything I love about the famous “queen of blending” is the fact that she’s just fantastic when it comes to getting a smokey eye done. She does it so well, and I just love the fact that she plays with colors and glitters as well. So here’s a makeup tutorial on how to do a glittery purple smokey eye. Errrrrrm OK, I love they whole glitters and purple color going on, but quick edit for me, for me oh….. cos this final look is just too plenty for me lol! I’d do without the colored glittery brow, I’d be just fine with a regular not so emphasized brow, and a more natural lip works just fine for me *phew*!!!!! What’s your opinion on his look? Oh and did anybody noticed her claws nails? loooool

Hey everyone, Check out the product of the week “Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Glitter” and seeing our famous “QUEEN OF BLENDING” (I’m sure she needs no introduction) as the face of the product. Delight in the smoother, more even finish yielded by micronized particles. This ultrasmall particle glitter comes in a wide array of fashion-forward colors that photograph beautifully. Hey everyone, I’ve never done a post like this before, I hope it’s useful to you…..:) So I saw this video by wayne goss sharing his experience about the laser treatment he got, and he titled it: IS THIS THE FACE OF BEAUTY? After watching the video, I just don’t think or (let me say) i’m not sure if I would want to have one done. I had always said when I’m done with childbirth, I would do some laser treatment on my tummy to get rid of the stretchmarks I got from my the pregnancy with my first child. With my second I had none at all because I really took care of my skin as I had better knowledge than with my first pregnancy. These days people tend to jump easily at laser treatments to look more beautiful as it gives a very fast and beautiful result. But the pains of going through the entire process, most times people do not know about it. As with surgery in general it has it’s pros …

Sacred Skin Care Series: Dry Skin

Hey everyone, A continuation on the series I started 2 weeks ago on different skin types and how to care for the skin… Last week we talked about oily skin, how to identify and care for it. (click on the link if you missed it: Today, we’ll be talking about “dry skin”! How do you recognize a dry skin? What are the features of a dry skin and how do you care for it?

Sacred Skin Care Series: Oily Skin

Hey everyone, It’s been quite a busy week for me, hence my inability to write for some days now. My apologies please bear with me……:) You know what they say about pregnancy, “NOBODY’S A CUSTOMER TO PREGNANCY” *phew*. So I just had to write today, on the skin care series…… Lets talk about oily skin. How do you recognize it? How you care for it? What are the things you need to know about oily skin. Most of us are conversant with oily skin as it is very easy to identify due to the production of excess oil (technical term is sebum) that causes shine on the face. You know you have an oily skin if: .Your face is shiny, due to the overactive oil glands .You are prone to acne (pimples) and black heads .When touched, an oily skin sometimes feels coarse .Oily skin is characterized with large pores

Sacred Skin Care Series: Which Skin Type Are You?

Hi everyone, First of all I want to say thank you to everyone for sending in their inputs and encouragement, and also for taking out time to read my posts. I wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out, but right now I have to say I am enjoying it…..:) So today I decided to start a new series on care of the skin. It’s a topic practically everyone tries to tackle every once in a while. Having a beautiful skin is every woman’s dream…. actually not just women, men as well. So it is actually everyone’s wish to have a beautiful flawless skin. The first step to having a flawless skin is knowing your skin type. When you do know and understand your skin type, then the next step is knowing what you should and shouldn’t do, what products to be used and should be avoided. I am going to give a detailed explanation on the different skin types and how to care for them… I would be focusing more on the face …

Hey everyone, YELZ THAT’S ME!!!! hehehehehe…. It took me a lot of courage to do this (putting up my picture ie. But how long shall I hide for?) *phew* So I had planned to do a video on this one, to show you my everyday natural look. For some reason, my camera decided to act up… 😦 So I am a little upset or should I say disappointed. I’ll just have explanation and show it in pictures rather than a video. I do however have a tutorial video by michelle phan attached below, you may want to also check that out also….:) Lets get started!!!! STEP 1 I start out with a clean skin, making sure every form of dirt is out by either washing my face or using a facial wipes.

Hey everyone, So I came across this fabulous youtube channel “cute girl’s hairstyles”, and I was wowed!!!! It’s such an irony though that in a country like ours where we regularly do alot of braids that we don’t see some of these creative styles. These things should be a norm for us. This lady does amazing things with braids, I’m in awe of her creativity. The best part is, some of these hairstyles takes about 3 minutes or less to get them done Nigerians!!!!! We need to step up and be creative…. there are so many things to do, one just needs to think outside the box. Anyway, before I start going off the topic at hand *siiiiigh*…..:( LOL! Here are some of her videos. Lets learn new haistyles and go rocking *wink* “DOUBLE-TWISTED BUN UP DO” “WATERFALL TWISTS INTO MERMAID BRAIDS!” “STACKED TWIST PONYTAIL” I could have posted 10 of her videos if I wanted to, but that’s just going to be too much. looool In the meantime, let me know what you think. And you …

Hey everyone, Our today’s featured artist is PAT McGRATH. She is one of the most famous and well paid makeup artist in the world. I got to know about her when I was doing some research on the most famous artists in the world….. (Did a post on top 5 famous MUA in the world last week click here if u missed it) Now there were 4 other artists but I took special interest in her because, in according to the article she “NEVER” had any formal training in fashion nor in make up. She got her training listening to her mother’s comments while watching classic movies. WOW!!!!! Little wonder Vogue Magazine named her as the “MOST INFLUENTIAL MAKEUP ARTIST” in the world today. McGrath is also credited for setting up the cosmetic line of Armani. She has also been the Beauty Director of Max Factor and Cover Girl cosmetic. she has said, “I really love being a makeup artist. It never gets mundane or predictable and every shoot and show is different.” According …

HELLO EVERYONE, It’s Sunday again…… that’s one day I look forward to for so many reasons including posting a makeup tutorial for you our beautiful gods and goddesses……:) Training as a makeup artist like I said, was a little challenging for me. Because I had the mind set of a typical Nigerian saying to myself, “oh it’s just the application of foundation and powder and all that needs to be applied and I’m done”. I got more than I bargained for lol. I think I should do a post on my experience while training to become a makeup artist *thinking*. Anyway, back to the topic at hand……..:) most of us find using the liquid liner quite difficult especially as a beginner. I had a lot of issues myself as a beginner, My boss would make me clean off her liner and ask me to put it back on and it has to be exactly the way she wears her liner *phew*. And for every time I do it wrongly, she would make me clean it …

When we think of the world of fashion, the first two things that come to mind are the models and the designers. Kate Upton, Bar Rafaeli, Brooklyn Decker, Giselle Bundchen and Adriana Lima all go hand in hand with the likes of Giorgio Armani, Prada, Coco Chanel and Versace. They are all household names with looks that men long for, and creations that women aspire for. Behind these people however are the make up artists. Make up artists play an important role as they enhance the model’s beauty and complement the designer’s creations. These people are the most sought after in the business. They have the hands that wield the brushes to make the models look even better than perfect. Here is a list of the top five most famous make up artists in the world of fashion today. 1. Sam Fine This African American is one of the highest paid make up artists in the world today. Commanding a salary of more than $3,500 per day, which does not include overtime and travel allowances, …

Hey everyone, It’s DIY Wednesday…… *drum roll* So today, we will be doing a “DIY OMBRE HAIR”. Ombre hair has been trending for quite a while now, and still is. But I happen to be one of those who would rather treat my weave myself than give it to someone to do it for me. The first time I ever tried giving my new weave to a stylist she messed up my hair so bad,I regretted ever thinking about it and then going ahead to give her the weave to highlight for me. I love highlights on my hair so much! Towards the end of last year and early this year I had a signature hairstyle going on for months….. One time it was purpe, and then I did blue, red, and white lol. I was having fun playing with colors and I loved it. Pregnancy however, made me go on a break……:( *sigh*. Can’t wait to bounce back looooool. It’s not like I can’t do it now, afterall it would be done on a …

Hey everyone, Sure you had a fantastic weekend……:) I am very excited because, it’s a new week. I love it when a new week starts makes me feel good especially since my birthday is approaching *grin* So today’s tutorial is “how to: crystal eyeliner” by PIXIWOO. I love bold liners so much, I can go without an eyeshadow (which I consider stress especially when I am not in the mood for makeup, I just don’t have the patience for the whole application and blending process *phew*). So my liquid liner is a sure way for me to go looooool. Today’s eyeliner tutorial involves the use of glitters….. Well I won’t say it’s an everyday look, as it requires more time to do. It is actually wearable for me, maybe not on a daily basis. For parties maybe, or events, weddings, I can rock this to most occasions. But I would like you to watch the video and let me know what “YOU” think.

Hey everyone, It’s Friday again, a day for product reviews……:) So I saw this video by WAYNE GOSS, and he titled the video “FAIL! WORST HIGH END FOUNDATIONS!” loooooool!!!! This guy is just hilarious!!!!! He’s so blunt in his reviews, sometimes I feel for the makers of the product. He would analyze it so well you would completely loose interest in even giving it a try lmao….. I guess that’s why I love his videos. I won’t have to go through the process of buying a not so good product and getting upset later.Lol Here’s the video guys, see for yourself and let me know what you think…..:)

Hey everyone, It’s DIY Wednesday again, whoo hoo……… “Lipstick pallete a space saver”. Who relates with me on this? Many a time I get tired of carrying so many different lipsticks or lip gloss in one purse. It gets so tiring, apart from the fact that most times the purse gets heavy due to the different products meant for different purposes in the purse. That’s one, two Imagine (makeup artists would relate more with this) having a bag full of high end lipsticks or that favorite lip color you love and then you loose the bag or some of your products…..It is really painful trust. Makeup artists suffer this a lot especially when they have to work in a crowded place it gets all crazy and if you are not careful or observant, your products get missing. Palletes come in very handy anyday, anytime. Sometimes your favorite lipgloss falls and breaks obviously it’s already useless but don’t toss the content with the bottle just yet, you can empty it into a storage can. There are …

Hey everyone, Monday is here again!!!! Special shout out to all Lagosians. I know most of you do not look forward to Mondays, with the traffic and the hustles, but look on the bright side, take a deep breathe, put your hand on your chest, a gentle smile on your face, and and say to yourself…. “ALLIZ WELL”……:) Now on a lighter note, lol y’all remember “CUTEPOLISH”? I posted a DIY video on how to a marble nail some weeks back. Well today I decided to feature her as our artist of the week. Cutepolish as her name is on youtube, has about 1,371,953 subscribers and 168 videos on youtube. she obviously is a nail specialist and does incredible things with her nails. She also does a lot of tutorials on DIY nail art. This particular one I love so much, because I am a huge fan of candy crush. My husband and I would compete on who opens up and finishes a new level first *covering face* lol What makes her videos fun to …

Hello everyone? Whoever said you get the best and most beautiful products from “high end brands” huh? Well today I’m here to say to you, that there are lots of drugstore products that is as good and some times even better than the high end products. I mean no one wants to spend tons of money when there are cheaper options out there. There are so many products, and so many options to choose from its all about knowing to buy. Now I do realize some people might have some difficulties in watching the video so I got pictures of some if not all of the products talked about in the video. And what are we here for if not to help? It’s all about “YOU” our beautiful gods and goddesses……:) (I do apologize for the mix up on Friday. This post is actually meant to be posted on Friday, and the Friday post (makeup tutorial) was meant for today.) So here goes…. best drugstore products of all time by MAKEUPGEEK For face For eyes …
