Event- My Makeup in Nigeria Conference Adventure

The morning of MINC began for me as an adventure. This was the first ever unique Pro-Makeup artist Conference in Nigeria -250 Years of Combined Experience & Expertise! 11 International Renowned Makeup Experts! 500 Fast Rising makeup artists! 1 Event! I couldn’t wait to experience it! Makeup artistry is certainly a field that has blossomed in Nigeria over the years, and on the 30th of April 2014, over 700 makeup entrepreneurs and beauty influencers were present under one roof at the Oriental Hotel to be part of the Makeup in Nigeria Conference. I got to the venue a little over 9am and I walked into a hall bubbling with activity. It was going to be a good day, and I could feel it already. I snagged myself a ticket and hurried through the attractive exhibition stands and into the hall which was already filled to capacity, wow. Apparently, some people woke up that morning feeling the need to be present at the event and came to make late registrations. (Well done! Lol!) Thankfully, the hall was large enough to accommodate squatters (lol), and what you couldn’t see …

Event: FOREO Launches in Nigeria at the Cosmex Trade Fair

Hello Beauty Lovers! The Cosmex Trade Fair  is on! And… FOREO, got its first official introduction to Nigeria! The response we got from the attendees have been AMAZING! FOREOS’ stand remained busy, providing attendees with free facial massage treatment, allowing them experience first hand, the deep and gentle cleansing effect of this silicone facial brush. I could see them smile as they relaxed to its pampering effect! As official Partners/Distributors for Nigeria, Sacred made sure those visiting fell in love with the FOREO LUNA™ range and were aware of the opportunities to distribute and stock the brand at their salons & spas or retail outlets. I promise you, you can’t go wrong using LUNA. Check out our review of Luna here. Many international cosmetic brands came into Nigeria for the first time to advertise their products and hopefully, get Nigerian based distributors. If you think this is something you’d be interested in (or you know someone who might be interested in being representatives of these …

Hello Gods & Goddesses! It’s one more day to TGIF! Yay! I hope the week has been productive for you! In fact, we experienced the most hitch-free road trip to Ibadan and (wait for it…) coming into Lagos! Yes! No traffic coming into Lagos! It was awesome. Thank God *gratitude*! I digress! Beauty Advice: You don’t have to put a hole in your purse to take care of your skin!

Hey Gods & Goddesses! It’s day 2 of a new fabulous week. Maybe the last week didn’t go well for you or you didn’t achieve the goals you set out to accomplish. But, irrespective of that, decide that this week you would pick yourself up and try again. Set new goals, pay attention to details- the opportunity you have been waiting for might just be in that little detail. Be determined that you will go on, no matter the road blocks you come across, but most importantly-BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!  “You have a clean slate every day you wake up. You have a chance every single morning to make that change and be the person you want to be. You just have to decide to do it. Decide today’s the day. Say it; THIS IS GOING to BE MY DAY”.   So, back to our beauty post for today: Skin Care!

Beauty Advice: 3 Skin Care Tips For Hot Lagos Weather!

Hi Gods & Goddesses! This Lagos weather- Hot, Hazy and Humid- makes your skin feel sticky and blah! The sweat just hangs around on your skin, instead of evaporating into the air! Not to add insult to injury, this sweat then mixes with your body’s natural oils and bacteria, forming a layer of slippery biofilm! Urgh!  According to experts, all that extra moisture on the surface can act like a magnifying glass, attracting the harsh sun and amplifying the damaging effects it has on your skin. Not pretty at all! My Sacred Beauty to the rescue! With tips that will guide you to take care of your skin, to avoid all that blah! 1. Exfoliate Look for formulas with fruit enzymes and smooth microbeads for a dual-action exfoliation. The hot season can bring on increased breakouts and can leave the skin with some residual dead skin cell build-up. There is increased oil flow as the temperature heats up more, which can get trapped underneath cellular build-up, resulting in clogged pores. The solution is to increase your exfoliation.
