New Section Alert: Homeopathy – Natural Remedies for Everyday Problems

Hello everyone, My name is Liome. I am a Homeopathic Practitioner specialising in treating Women… *silence*.. I can almost you scratching your head wondering.. What IS Homeopathy? Many people have heard of the name but are unsure of what it exactly entails. Well.. Homeopathy is an alternative medical practice in which extremely dilute amounts of certain natural substances are used to treat various ailments. Women face unique health challenges. Their bodies are regulated by rhythmical monthly cycles, which occur with computerised regularity — naturally. It’s, however, not uncommon for subtle deviations of hormones, stress, environmental and dietary factors to upset this rhythmical balance. This is where natural homeopathic remedies help restore balance, safely and gently.

I grew up singing “Maybe she’s born with it.. Maybe it’s Maybelline”. It’s a great mid market druegstore brand that has a wide selection of colours and products which can be used by ALL skintones.

SKIN CARE SERIES: SENSITIVE SKIN

Hey everyone, A continuation on our skin care series: We discussed oily, dry and combination skin already. Today, we’ll be talking about “sensitive skin.” Sensitive skin is quite a common skin type, as it’s also known as a problematic skin. Sensitive skin is typically a thin or a fine-textured skin. It usually reacts quickly to temperature changes from heat, cold or wind, the sun or pollution. Sometimes aging increases the skins sensitivity. However, most people who think hey have sensitive skin are probably allergic to the ingredients in their skin care products. Only a dermatologist or a qualified therapist can determine if you have a sensitive skin. Sensitive skin usually gets easily irritated, red, rashy, blotchy or prone to allergic reactions. It requires extra gentle care. It’s important to use mild products formulated to help calm and soothe the skin.

People with combination skin are prone to breakout and blackheads especially around the cheek area. Alot of the time, combination skin can be genetical.

WAYNE GOSS BARES IT ALL: HIS OPINION ON LASER TREATMENT!

Hey everyone, I’ve never done a post like this before, I hope it’s useful to you…..:) So I saw this video by wayne goss sharing his experience about the laser treatment he got, and he titled it: IS THIS THE FACE OF BEAUTY? After watching the video, I just don’t think or (let me say) i’m not sure if I would want to have one done. I had always said when I’m done with childbirth, I would do some laser treatment on my tummy to get rid of the stretchmarks I got from my the pregnancy with my first child. With my second I had none at all because I really took care of my skin as I had better knowledge than with my first pregnancy. These days people tend to jump easily at laser treatments to look more beautiful as it gives a very fast and beautiful result. But the pains of going through the entire process, most times people do not know about it. As with surgery in general it has it’s pros …

Sacred Skin Care Series: Oily Skin

Hey everyone, It’s been quite a busy week for me, hence my inability to write for some days now. My apologies please bear with me……:) You know what they say about pregnancy, “NOBODY’S A CUSTOMER TO PREGNANCY” *phew*. So I just had to write today, on the skin care series…… Lets talk about oily skin. How do you recognize it? How you care for it? What are the things you need to know about oily skin. Most of us are conversant with oily skin as it is very easy to identify due to the production of excess oil (technical term is sebum) that causes shine on the face. You know you have an oily skin if: .Your face is shiny, due to the overactive oil glands .You are prone to acne (pimples) and black heads .When touched, an oily skin sometimes feels coarse .Oily skin is characterized with large pores

Hi everyone, First of all I want to say thank you to everyone for sending in their inputs and encouragement, and also for taking out time to read my posts. I wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out, but right now I have to say I am enjoying it…..:) So today I decided to start a new series on care of the skin. It’s a topic practically everyone tries to tackle every once in a while. Having a beautiful skin is every woman’s dream…. actually not just women, men as well. So it is actually everyone’s wish to have a beautiful flawless skin. The first step to having a flawless skin is knowing your skin type. When you do know and understand your skin type, then the next step is knowing what you should and shouldn’t do, what products to be used and should be avoided. I am going to give a detailed explanation on the different skin types and how to care for them… I would be focusing more on the face …

MAKEUP TUTORIAL – HOW TO: NATURAL MAKEUP

Hey everyone, YELZ THAT’S ME!!!! hehehehehe…. It took me a lot of courage to do this (putting up my picture ie. But how long shall I hide for?) *phew* So I had planned to do a video on this one, to show you my everyday natural look. For some reason, my camera decided to act up… 😦 So I am a little upset or should I say disappointed. I’ll just have explanation and show it in pictures rather than a video. I do however have a tutorial video by michelle phan attached below, you may want to also check that out also….:) Lets get started!!!! STEP 1 I start out with a clean skin, making sure every form of dirt is out by either washing my face or using a facial wipes.

DIY: BRAIDED HAIRSTYLES

Hey everyone, So I came across this fabulous youtube channel “cute girl’s hairstyles”, and I was wowed!!!! It’s such an irony though that in a country like ours where we regularly do alot of braids that we don’t see some of these creative styles. These things should be a norm for us. This lady does amazing things with braids, I’m in awe of her creativity. The best part is, some of these hairstyles takes about 3 minutes or less to get them done Nigerians!!!!! We need to step up and be creative…. there are so many things to do, one just needs to think outside the box. Anyway, before I start going off the topic at hand *siiiiigh*…..:( LOL! Here are some of her videos. Lets learn new haistyles and go rocking *wink* “DOUBLE-TWISTED BUN UP DO” “WATERFALL TWISTS INTO MERMAID BRAIDS!” “STACKED TWIST PONYTAIL” I could have posted 10 of her videos if I wanted to, but that’s just going to be too much. looool In the meantime, let me know what you think. And you …

FEATURED MAKEUP ARTIST- PAT McGRATH

Hey everyone, Our today’s featured artist is PAT McGRATH. She is one of the most famous and well paid makeup artist in the world. I got to know about her when I was doing some research on the most famous artists in the world….. (Did a post on top 5 famous MUA in the world last week click here https://thebeautyinsiderng.wordpress.com/2013/08/29/five-most-famous-makeup-artists-in-the-world/ if u missed it) Now there were 4 other artists but I took special interest in her because, in according to the article she “NEVER” had any formal training in fashion nor in make up. She got her training listening to her mother’s comments while watching classic movies. WOW!!!!! Little wonder Vogue Magazine named her as the “MOST INFLUENTIAL MAKEUP ARTIST” in the world today. It never gets mundane or predictable and every shoot and show is different.” According …

MAKEUP TUTORIAL: EASY WAYS TO USE A LIQUID LINER

HELLO EVERYONE, It’s Sunday again…… that’s one day I look forward to for so many reasons including posting a makeup tutorial for you our beautiful gods and goddesses……:) Training as a makeup artist like I said, was a little challenging for me. Because I had the mind set of a typical Nigerian saying to myself, “oh it’s just the application of foundation and powder and all that needs to be applied and I’m done”. I got more than I bargained for lol. I think I should do a post on my experience while training to become a makeup artist *thinking*. Anyway, back to the topic at hand……..:) most of us find using the liquid liner quite difficult especially as a beginner. I had a lot of issues myself as a beginner, My boss would make me clean off her liner and ask me to put it back on and it has to be exactly the way she wears her liner *phew*. And for every time I do it wrongly, she would make me clean it …
