Sacred Artistry Creative Competition (NOW CLOSED)

Hello all my Gorgeous Artistes out there

We’re so pleased to announce the launch of our monthly makeup artistry competition.

The rules are very simple. Each month we’ll set a different theme. All you have to do is interpret the theme however you like. It’s a creative competition so have fun with it! You can use adornments and costumes (if you’re brave).. heheh.. and of course.. Lashes!

The makeup can either be done on yourself or on a model. We don’t mind. But they should be photographs you’ve taken yourself. We don’t allow any professionally photoshopped or airbrushed images.

The competition is open to makeup artists based within the US, UK, Europe and Nigeria!!

Photographs were initially submitted either through email to us or posted onto our group wall http://www.facebook.com/sacredartistry

The competition was open for 2 weeks with all images being submitted by midnight tonight.  Public voting will be open for over this weekend. The winner will be announced on Monday 13th June.

Up for grabs this month are a gorgeous set of lashes from our very own Sacred Lashes range.  Every month different goodies will be up on offer.  As well as the title of “Sacred Artistry Makup Artist of the Month”

May the best Artist win!

Thanks to everyone that’s been voting so far. I understand that some people are having problems accessing the poll via their bb’s. If you do have a problem. Feel free to just leave a comment saying who you’d like to vote for. I’ll make sure to add these to the final results just to make sure that voting is far for all entries.

Have a great weekend, may the Best Artist win!

WOW the voting has really heated up.. Thanks to everyone for all your support of the different artists. Let’s cheer them on and make sure your favourite looks win.

We would however mention that we trace ip addresses and we can see that some comments are being made from the same computer. We would allow a certain amount of votes to come from one source as we know people may all be together rallying around their favourites and as long as you use different email addresses to register your vote we will allow these through. But we can’t allow an unlimited amount to come from one source. We hope you understand we have to do this to ensure a fair competition for all our artists.

We will also say, you can only vote for yourself once. So please don’t try to send through multiple votes as these won’t count.

Really looking forward to the final results. Who will be our Sacred Creative Artist of the Month!!

Hey guys, thanks for all your enthusiasm towards the competition. It’s great to see so many people taking a keen interest. However, we’re no longer accepting more than 4 votes per computer/ip address. Even if they register with different email addresses. This is to give benefit of the doubt to those who really are sharing computers with other people and to ensure a truly fair competition.

Hope you’re having as much fun as we are!

    Much love

Advice for next time…to Sacred Beauty
I noticed the voting has gone crazy… why ? … because the result is displayed immediately the vote is cast. In case of next month, kindly remove the result summary from the page, and make the voting within 24hrs.
That will help and portray the correct judgement without much cheating.

Thanks for your advice Tayo. There are always “better ways” of doing things. We’ve been totally overwhelmed by the response to our first ever competition and next month we will be making changes to the voting procedure. We would however state that if the results weren’t shown from the start that there would be the inevitable claims of vote rigging. We will definitely shorten the voting time frame allowed, but as we weren’t sure how this first run would go we wanted to ensure that people had enough time over the weekend to access the site. Lastly, cheating can only take place if people are allowed to vote more than once for the same person. We’ve gone to extreme lengths to ensure that this hasn’t happened. Over time, as the competition grows, people who are not related to or friends of the entrants will also join in the voting and vote independently for those who they deem to be the most creative. However, I will not allow anything to take away the pride each contestant has in their work. Public voting allows a fair process it does also mean that we as the organisers cannot moderate or swing the votes in favour of any one particular contestant. If we take away the public voting and pass a final judgement ourselves, then we may be accused of favouritism. But we may introduce a judging panel in future who will decide a certain percentage of scores and leave the rest to the public to decide. Thanks for your comment, constructive suggestions are always truly appreciated.
